Cancer Care

Cancer care at Grove City Medical Center is just what community-based specialty medicine should be—compassionate care, delivered by competent professionals close to home.

In partnership with UPMC, hematologist-oncologist Dr. Edgardo Lob oversees all aspects of patient care. From diagnosis through comprehensive treatment, which often includes collaboration with other cancer care providers, patients can feel confident that they are receiving the same caliber of treatment they would in a larger, faraway facility. Our dedicated nursing staff is specially trained in the unique medical and emotional needs of patients dealing with cancer, and takes pride in treating each patient as they would care for a member of their own family.

pet-ct scan

PET/CT Scan

Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography, or PET/CT is used to identify cancer and combines the functional information of the body obtained through PET with the precise anatomical information of the body obtained through CT in one exam. PET/CT scan can often detect disease processes before a physical change can be seen by CT or MRI alone.
